Police hunt for three women following theft in Great Harwood
CCTV images of three women have been released following a distraction burglary at a shop.
Police wish to speak to the women after the theft when a Great Harwood shopkeeper was distracted and property, including a laptop computer, was stolen.
The incident took place mid-afternoon when the women walked into the Hot Tips Nail and Beauty shop, in Blackburn Road, which was undergoing refurbishment.
One woman began speaking to the owner of the shop who was inside carrying out the work.
While the owner was distracted, it is believed the other two women took a number of items of clothing and the laptop and put them into large handbags before leaving the store. They then got into a maroon or burgundy-coloured Ford Galaxy car.
Officers investigating the theft have released these CCTV images of women they would like to speak to in connection with the incident on Sunday, August 19, at 3pm.
Anyone with any information is asked to come forward. PC Lee Richardson said: “If anyone recognises the women in the images or the description of the car, then I would ask them to come forward.
“Similarly, if anyone saw anything suspicious in or around the area on the day or has any other information they think could assist, then I would ask them to contact us.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Richardson by calling the non-emergency number 101 quoting log number 1338. Alternatively, information can be passed via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
