Nelson accident pensioner ‘critical’

A PENSIONER knocked down outside Morrison’s supermarket in Nelson on Friday is in a life-threatening condition in hospital.
The 75-year-old, from Burnley, was struck by a Vauxhall Astra in a low-speed collision in Pendle Street just before 2pm.
The man had got up from the collision and was reported to be fine but, after being taken to hospital, it was discovered he had suffered head injuries when he hit the road.
Doctors found a blood clot and the man is now described as being ‘critical’ at Royal Preston Hospital.

However, a lot of the traffic problems in this area are not as a result of the mosque, but of the extremely poorly planned Morrison's car park. The location of the first crossing means that traffic queues right back to the roundabout at busier times causing traffic delays and accidents. Morrison's should give some serious thought to re-routing traffic so that the crossings do not cause delays / queueing in the future.
