Thieves target Rishton allotments

COUNCILLORS have voiced their concerns over a spate of thefts affecting residents.

Councillors in Rishton said break-ins at allotments in the town were causing a great deal of anxiety.

Couns Ken Moss, Clare Cleary and Harry Grayson said they were liaising with police on the issue. “Tension is rising regarding the situation,” said Coun Moss.

“The Rishton councillors are currently lobbying the senior police to recognise the strength of feeling among residents and divert more resources to tackle it.”
