East Lancashire hospitals launch Facebook site

PATIENTS can now access information on the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust Facebook site.
The trust’s page can be used as an interactive forum for health-related topics, as well as general trust information, event details, photos and links to hospital news.
Chief executive Mark Brearley said: “We are always looking for new ways to communicate with our patients, the public and our members.
“We will be using Facebook to provide regular updates on activities or events within the trust, along with healthcare advice.
“We hope members of the local community will visit Facebook and ‘Like’ the trust’s page and enjoy this new way of interacting with their local hospital trust.
“We are also aware that young adults are regular users of Facebook and we are keen to engage with them and gain feedback about their experiences within our hospitals”
