A loaded gun was found in a car on a Darwen pub car park.

Magistrates heard that the landlord of the Borough Hotel reported the suspicious vehicle and when officers arrived and made a search, they discovered a Brocock air pistol which had been adapted to fire .22 bullets. It had been in the the glove compartment.

They also found further ammunition in a bag, and a set of false number plates in the boot.
