Wheelie bin fire spreads to Burnley house
12:43pm Monday 10th September 2012 in News
AN arsonist has been blamed for a blaze behind an empty house in Burnley late on Friday night.
Fire crew manager Joel Mason said it appeared there had been efforts to break into the terrace property in Grange Street, just before 11.20pm.
When this proved unsuccessful a wheelie bin was set alight and this spread to a kitchen extension at the back of the house.
Mr Mason said crews managed to contain the fire and only minor damage was caused to the outside of the property.
