Blackburn's Westholme school welcomes first senior boys

WESTHOLME School has opened its doors to the first group of senior boys.

The new senior boys’ school is a milestone in the history of Westholme which will be 90 next year. Boys have joined the school from areas as diverse as Baxenden, Bolton, Darwen and Ingol.

Lillian Croston, principal, said Westholme would continue to invest in the education of young people in the area of both genders from age two to 18.

She said: “Everyone at Westholme is delighted now to offer our sought-after educational experience to boys from age 11.

“They will continue to be taught separately to the girls in line with Westholme’s ethos. Looking at our very impressive results it is a proven formula for success. The future looks very bright at Westholme.”
