East Lancashire patients urged to share their views of the healthcare system

PATIENTS are being urged to share their experience of being clients of the health and social care system with a national regulator.

Rossendale and Darwen Tory MP Jake Berry wants them to take apart in a North West-wide pilot scheme being run by the Care Quality Commission.

The CQC which regulates health and social care in England and is currently running a pilot in the region to obtain feedback from people who have a direct experience of using care services.

Jake said: “This is an invaluable opportunity for people from Rossendale and Darwen to give their feedback to the health regulator about local services. I would encourage everyone to tell the Care Quality Commission what they think of the care they have received.”

Ann Ford, CQC head of compliance for the North West, said: “Whenever and wherever you receive care you have a right to be protected from the risk of abuse and neglect; you should be respected and involved in decisions – and care should meet your individual needs.

“We want more people to know about the standards they should expect from their care – and to tell us about their experiences, good and bad.”
