Man critically injured after Ramsbottom street attack

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being kicked in the head in Ramsbottom.
Police were called to the junction of Bridge Street and Bolton Street following reports of a fight at 11pm on Friday.
When officers attended they found a 32-year-old man unconscious. He had been punched to the floor and then punched and kicked while he was down, including being kicked to the head.
Paramedics were called and the man was taken to hospital for treatment to a bleed on the brain.
Doctors describe the man’s condition as ‘critical’ as he remains in the intensive care unit at Hope Hospital, in Salford.
Two men, aged 21 and 23 have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remain in police custody.
However, officers are still trying to trace another man, who is understood to have boarded a 472 bus to towards Bury.
A Greater MAnchester Police spokesman said: “I appealing to anyone who may be able to help locate this man to come forward and contact police.”
