Arson investigation after Burnley house blaze

AN arsonist has been blamed for a blaze which was started behind an empty house in Burnley last night (Fri).

Crew manager Joel Mason, of Burnley station, said it appeared there had been efforts to break into the terraced property in Grange Street, just before 11.20pm.

But when this proved unsuccessful a wheelie bin was set alight and this spread to a kitchen extension at the back of the house.

Mr Mason said crews managed to continue the fire and only minor damage was caused to the outside of the property.

The crews managed to continue the fire, thought they put fires out, not keep them going. Think contain the fire would be the word.
