Accrington man's jail sentence suspended

AN ACCRINGTON man who breached a restraining order and assaulted Lisa Payton despite being banned from contacting her or entering the town of Rishton where she lives, has walked free from court.
Simon Raith, 22, of Waddington Road, was sentenced yesterday when the defendant appeared before Preston Crown Court, by Recorder Michael Blakely.
The defendant was sentenced to eight months in prison suspended for 18 months. Raith had pleaded guilty ato the charges of a breach of restraining order and assault by beating.
