Mini-music festival will keep Colne rocking

A MINI-music festival is set to keep Colne rocking – just a fortnight after the town’s annual rhythm and blues fiesta.

Town councillors are behind the return of Green Rock at the Millennium Green, Waterside, from 1pm on Saturday.

Live music is scheduled from bands as varied as Rasta4eyes, Walter Mitty’s Head, Big Belly Hi-Fi, Teaspoon and Cover Story.

And the winner of the Colne Gala’s star maker competition, Rihan Thornton, will also be taking her bow on the bill.

Town council chairman Coun Dorothy Lord launched the Green Rock event last year through the authority’s events committee as a way of promoting local talent.

Music fans of all ages are being encouraged to bring along their own picnics for an afternoon of free music and fun.

Alcohol will be strictly prohibited on the day but other refreshments will be available.

Waste of taxpayers money...

I went down to see this year... there must have been 50 people there!

Dorothy Lord seems to always spend taxpayers money on events (or flowers!!)
