Nelson couple charged with leaving children 'home alone'

A Nelson couple have been charged with three counts each of assaulting, ill-treating and neglecting a child after allegations that three children were left 'home alone'.
Officers forced entry into a house in Macleod Street, Nelson, at around 4am yesterday after a neighbour contacted police as they were concerned there were three children in the terrace house on their own.
A 28-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were arrested and later charged.
