A 34-YEAR-OLD woman was airlifted to hospital after she crashed her motorbike during a lesson in Darwen.
The incident happened at around noon yesterday when the woman, who was riding a 500cc motobike at the Driving Standards Agency test centre, in Commercial Road, crashed through a metal fence surrounding the practice area, before falling 15 feet down an embankment.
Firefighters attended to help rescue the woman.
PC John Birch, from the road policing unit, said: “A female student was doing an emergency brake but panicked and hit a fence.
“She has got pelvic and chest injuries, but her condition was described as stable and not life-threatening.”
She was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
