Get up to speed on modern technology in Darwen
4:00pm Monday 3rd September 2012 in News
AGE UK Blackburn with Darwen, in partnership with Darwen Aldridge Community Academy, is holding two free taster sessions, one on making the most of your mobile phone and one on social networking.
The events will offer expert tuition and the chance to have a go. It is aimed at making modern technology, including the advanced mobile phones and social networking sites like Facebook , Twitter and YouTube, more accessible to elderly people in Blackburn and Darwen.
Both sessions will take place on Wednesday, September 19, from 3.30pm to 5pm at the academy.
Alison Hartley, Age UK’s ageing well co-ordinator, said: “As technology develops, many older people don’t have to be left behind.
“We hope these taster sessions will encourage people to come along and see how they could make the most of technology in their lives.”
Places are limited so need to be booked in advance.
