Have your say on council tax benefit changes in Pendle
12:08pm Monday 3rd September 2012 in News
PEOPLE in the Pendle Council area have the chance to have their say on changes to council tax benefit before October 25.
Pendle Council head of central services Dean Langton said: “The Government is making big changes to council tax benefit and we are asking for residents’ views. As part of the wider reforms of the welfare system, they are asking councils to devise their own local council tax discount schemes.
“This will replace council tax benefit.
“As well as introducing a localised scheme of support, we will have less funding available. It is really important people don’t miss this chance to have their say.”
Coun Linda Crossley, who looks after financial matters in Pendle, said: “A draft council tax discount scheme has been developed for the purposes of our consultation, but it is not finalised because we want to know what residents think, before we make a final decision in December.”
Questionnaires are available in council shops, libraries and at 1 Market Street.

lol...Like the council ever listens to residents concerns, good PR stunt though...the councils agenda has already been decided, so dont play their silly games.
