A NURSE who gave a 97-year-old woman with a broken neck two paracetamol tablets has been suspended for 12 months.
Abdullah Khan, 37, ignored the frail pensioner's cries for help and sent her back to bed after she suffered a fall at a care home.
He continues to deny wrongdoing and remains oblivious to how he put the woman at risk, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.
Even after he was found guilty of serious misconduct, Khan told the NMC: “I never made a mistake”.
The panel issued him with a year-long ban, but stopped short of striking the father-of-six off the nursing register.
Khan was found guilty of also failing to call an ambulance and keeping records adequately at the BUPA-run Old Gates Nursing Home, in Feniscowles, on March 20 last year.
He will have to prove to a fresh NMC panel in 12 months' time that he has new insight into his mistakes before he is allowed to work as a nurse.
