The newly-weds, who saw to the formalities at Burnley Registry Office, exchanged their promises to each other before a full house at the Little Theatre during a specially written service.

Gilly said: “Colne Little Theatre has become a very special place for us, and it seemed only right that we celebrated our happiest day with our family and closest friends in this wonderful place.

“Colne Dramatic Society have been wonderfully kind and helpful, and our thanks go out to them for making this whole day possible.”

Celebrated local actor Alan Hargreaves led the proceedings, with music from award-winning musical performers Jon Ranwell and Laura Schofield, as well as poetry read by family friend Laura Johnson.
