Firefighters cut man from car in Burnley

A MAN had to be cut free from his car after a road accident involving three vehicles.

Firefighters from Burnley attended the scene of the collision, in Hebrew Road, Daneshouse, Burnley, at 6.25pm on Saturday.

A fire service spokesman said: “The man was confined to his vehicle complaining of neck pains, so paramedics insisted we got him out using the longboard.

“In order to do that, we had to cut the door and side of the car open and slide him out.

“His Vauxhall Astra appeared to have been hit from behind, but the police were investigating the cause of the accident.”

Firefighters were on the scene for about half-an-hour and the man was taken to hospital for checks.

Given the area the cause of this will probably be somebody driving like a tool, most likely on a falsely obtained 'traders policy'.
