COMMUNITY groups can apply for extra funding to support their work, through the Local Initiative Fund (LIF).
The fund, run by Lancashire County Council, has opened for its second round of applications and will make over £110,000 available to groups across eight Lancashire districts, which includes Hyndburn, Rossendale and Ribble Valley.
Grants of between £1000 and £5000 will be available to groups, to fund activities that support young people, families and skills and employment.
County Councillor, Mark Perks, said: “We awarded over £128,000 to groups during the first round of funding, ranging from cricket clubs to disabled people’s groups.
“Some Lancashire district areas have funds left over from the first round.
“This funding is another chance for groups to apply for a grant to deliver new projects and initiatives to their local area.”
Organisations have until Friday, October 5, to apply, those interested should visit www.lancashire.gov.uk or call Rehmat Hasham on 01772 530818.
