FIVE baby turkeys have defied the odds to become the latest attraction for farm visitors.
A pair of Buff turkeys at Lee Valley Park Farms in Stubbins Hall Lane, Waltham Abbey, became parents to the babies, known as poults, last week.
The breed usually struggles to conceive naturally – but in this case farm staff were only required to provide an incubator after mother turkey Bauble laid a clutch of fertile eggs.
The fluffy chicks emerged 28 days later and both Bauble and father Cracker have bonded with the new arrivals.
The farm also recently welcomed 10 piglets, born to Lucky the Large White on the evening of the Olympic opening ceremony.
