Couple celebrate their big day with the Olympic torch

AN East Lancashire couple proved they were ‘flaming mad’ about each other — by finishing their wedding this afternoon in time to be pictured with the Olympic torch.

Building firm manager Darren Heys, from Lumb in Rossendale and his bride-to-be Catherine Lloyd were married in St James The Less RC church in Rawtenstall this afternnon, just in time to see the torch as it headed down Burnley Road.

The couple had planned for their big day to begin at 12.30pm but moved the ceremony forward after learning it would clash with the Olympic procession.

And their dream came true this afternoon when they were able to pose with the torch as it passed the church at around 1pm.
