AROUND 50 members of the Blackburn with Darwen Acrobatic Gymnastic Club lined Preston New Road to cheer on the torch before taking part in a demonstration for the crowds.
Coach Nicola Bradley said: “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for all the gymnasts.
“They work hard at a grassroots level and it inspires them to carry on in their sport.”
Fellow coach Samantha Crewe said: “We spent the last week making torches and flags to bring with us to show our support. We have members with us from the pre-school and intermediate groups.”
The gymnasts, who train at Grimshaw Street in Darwen, performed in the town centre on Saturday afternoon.
