HUNDREDS of schoolchildren sang their hearts out at this year’s annual Big Sing.
The first wave of primary school children performed as part of a mass choir concert at the King George’s Hall, Blackburn.
Last night 14 schools took part including Shadsworth Junior School, Lower Darwen Primary School and Newfield School.
They sang music such as In The Jungle, We’re All In This Together from hit American film High School Musical and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.
A total of 500 children will be taking part over two days.
The Big Sing is organised by Blackburn with Darwen Music Service.
Special thanks were given to conductor Jeff Borradaile, who is a professional choral director and has worked with the Halle Orchestra’s education programme.
He is also the musical director of Blackburn People’s Choir.
The songs were led by Sean Ashmore, head of music at Pleckgate High School, Caroline Aughton from Roe Lee Park Primary School and St Thomas’ Primary School and Natalie McNeill from Meadowhead Juniors School, Blackburn.
Blackburn with Darwen Music Service also thanked the audience for attending.
