A SHELTER and drop-in centre is urging people to donate unwanted food.
Maundy Grange boss Dorothy McGregor said it was becoming ‘increasingly difficult’ to meet the demand placed on the charity by large families who have fallen into poverty.
The 75-year-old said the amount of people relying on the Abbey Street centre, in Accrington had doubled in a year. She said: “We are appealing for any type of food.”
Anyone able to donate food should drop off food at 29-31 Abbey Street, Accrington.
