NELSON-based communications firm Daisy has created 80 new jobs after its customer contact centre became a 24-hour operation.

The firm’s centre, in Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, is becoming an all day operation following its recent growth.

With more than 75,000 business customers now serviced by the provider of broadband, mobile, lines, calls and telephone systems, the business has opted to bring all ‘out-of-hours’ services in-house.

Rebekah Tapping, group head of human resources for Daisy, said: “Recent growth has created some fantastic career opportunities for people both in the region and further afield.

“The creation of the 24-hour operation reflects this growth and we would like to invite potential candidates along to our headquarters in Nelson.

“Our recruitment evening is the perfect opportunity for anyone actively looking for work, or seeking a change of career, to find out more about the various roles we are advertising. We pride ourselves on being able to offer excellent career development opportunities and on-the-job training.”

Around 700 people are already employed at the company’s site in Nelson, and around 1,500 nationwide.

The firm, which was founded in Nelson in 2001, has recently invested £1million in a bomb-proof data centre inside the former Bank of England bullion vault in Manchester city centre.

In January, Daisy opened its new 700-capacity office complex, adjacent to its existing premises on Lindred Road.

Today the firm is holding a recruitment evening at the Lin-dred Road premises, from 3pm to 8pm.

The event is intended to give potential applicants an insight into working at Daisy as well as showcasing new and existing vacancies, and building a future opportunities.

People are being asked to bring their CVs to discuss all available opportunities, before enjoying a conducted tour of the company’s headquarters.
