THE boss of an East Lancashire bar has pulled off a major coup by attracting two superstar DJs to spin the decks at his revamped venue.

Ibiza clubbing supremo Judge Jules and hip hop legend Tim Westwood have agreed to play separate sets at The Loft in Burnley town centre.

General manager Shaun Grogan said he expected the nights to be a sell-out as the DJs are in such demand in the UK and abroad and also present their weekend shows on Radio 1.

The Bull Street venue has undergone a £50,000 transformation over the past 12 months to give it an 'Ibiza' vibe similar to Cafe Mambo, which attracts thousands of clubbers every year.

A new bistro-style bar area has also been created serving hot and cold food during the day, which has helped create 10 jobs.

Shaun said: "We wanted to do something a bit more sophisticated to bring in a better class of clientele.

"Unlike big clubs which can hold 2,000 people or more, we only hold 500 so they are closer to the acts and it's a more intimate gig.

"We've got a new outside terrace, new decor, marble worktops, new flooring and a glass wall which opens up like a concertina. We also have heated areas outside.

"Its going really well so far and we've created 10 new jobs with the new coffee shop and bistro open during the day."

And Shaun said he intends to book other top names in the future, which will be music to the ears of revellers.

He said: "We're going to bring more big DJs every month to the place.

"We have extended our licence until 4am for these special gigs. There is nowhere like this in Burnley or East Lancashire so we're delighted with it.

Judge Jules will appear on April 28 and Tim Westwood plays on May 18.

Tickets for each event costs £10 and are available from The Loft and Print4less, in Yorkshire Street.
