BLACKBURN Rovers youth team boss Terry McPhillips admits his side were not at their best tonight - but is predicting an exciting second leg at Turf Moor.

Raheem Hanley's 33rd minute header, his first goal for four years, was enough to give Rovers a 1-0 win over their Burnley counterparts in the FA Youth Cup semi final first leg, in front of more than 10,000 at Ewood.

McPhillips' side travel to Turf Moor for Wednesday's second leg with Jack O'Connell expected to be available, despite being sent off late on in this evening's clash.

McPhillips said: "We are pleased to be going there with a 1-0 lead. It is a slender advantage for us.

"We haven't been at our best tonight, in our other games we have been terrific but we weren't tonight.

"I don 't know why that is. I have an idea the crowd effected the lads, it is probably only Adam Henley who has played in front of a large crowd like that.

"The crowd were relentless with each other which was brilliant, I thought our fans won.

"It will be the same at Turf Moor, probably an ever bigger crowd because the game is so close, so we look forward to an exciting night at Turf Moor next Wednesday."
