A FREE outside fitness gym has been installed in Burnley thanks to funding from the National Lottery’s Award for All scheme.

The Friends of Towneley Park applied for almost £10,000 funding to set up the gym at the the old Unity College site in the park.

The equipment is available to the public at any time and is free of charge.

Teenagers taking part in the 14-week Avenir Training scheme have started to use the well-equipped gym.

Maureen Frankland, from the Friends of Towneley Park, said: “We look forward to seeing the equipment being well used.”
