PUPILS at a Rawtenstall primary school have been given safety talks by local police officers.
Community Beat Manager PC Mick Jones and PCSO Ian Pickles went into St James the Less Primary School on Wednesday to speak to children about the role of the police in the community.
The children were given a tour around the police carrier and officers explained the use of some equipment.
PC Jones: "Going into schools to talk to children is a great way of building relationships whilst explaining how the police are there to protect them and how they can help themselves if they happen to get in a difficult situation.
"We will be carrying out further visits in the new school year to speak to children about bullying, damage and criminal responsibility."
