THE debate about hanging and suitable punishments will continue until this government does some-thing positive such as return capital punishment for all murderers and yobs who set about people for no reason.
The same should apply to the cruel treatment of defenceless animals.
We will never be able to reform some of these vile and unrepentant scum, so let us have an eye for an eye. A recent event on a train involved Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson helping a train guard involved in a fares dispute where yobs refused to pay and spat in the guard’s face.
This offence should have required an immediate flogging, so I was surprised to hear Mr Stephenson to wonder why these crimes take place. He should know.
A James, Brierfield.
