A 10-YEAR-OLD boy who was left in a coma after being hit by a car presented a cheque today to the North West Air Ambulance as a thank you for saving his life.

Tyler Eaton was playing football near his home in Hammerton Green, Bacup, when he stepped out in front of a car on August 17 last year.

The Thorn Primary School pupil was left with severe head injuries and a fractured pelvis and was taken to hospital by the North west Air Ambulance (NWAA).

His mum Dawn said: “I have no doubt if it hadn’t been for the Air Ambulance Tyler wouldn’t be alive now.”

Tyler spent six weeks in Liverpool’s Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and four days in a medically induced coma.

Tyler’s grandmother, Beryl Crossley, is the chairman of Bacup Conservative and along with Debbie Abel, Jackie Cunliffe and Lizzie Shepherd they have raised £950 for the NWAA through a series of fundraising events.

Tyler lives with his mum, dad, Chris, and siblings Jordan, 15, Harrison, nine, Delta, seven, Ellie, five, Billy, one and Ruby, three month.
