AN Edgworth food shop has won a top award.
Whitehead’s Butchers and the Edgworth Deli won a Food NW Heart Award at the Fine Food Awards 2011, for its farm-reared lamb and home cured bacon.
Celebrity chef Nigel Haworth announced the winners at his Fantastic Food Show at Ewood Park.
Stephen Whitehead said he was “absolutely delighted” with the win.
He added: “We are particularly delighted to have won an award for our lamb which is personally reared by my dad David on our farm.
"The award is a tribute to all his hard work in producing such excellent quality meat”.
