Ten swimmers from Pioneer 79 Swimming Club were chosen to swim for Bolton and Manchester District in the Inter-Association Swimming Gala, which was held in Macclesfield. Swimmers who competed were: Connor Makin (14), William Beavan (12), Joseph Murray (11), Jasmin Scott (11), Natasha Rogan (10), Mesha Ingham-Francis (12), Olivia Nicholls (10).

Swimmers were chosen to represent the area from the results they achieved in the Bolton and Manchester swimming Championships held in Manchester in January. Swimmers are allowed to compete in no more than five events and there are 2 swimmers selected to swim in each event overall. Makin was chosen to swim in five events, 400m freestyle, he finished second in a time of 4.27.29, the 200m freestyle he took bronze in a time of 2.03.93, 100m freestyle, bronze, 58.41, 100m breaststroke, bronze 1.12.78 and 5th in the 100m butterfly in 1.08.23.

Beavan competed in five events in total, taking silver in the 100m freestyle in 1.04.56, fifth place in the 200m individual medley, 7th in the 100m breaststroke, ninth in the 400m freestyle.

Murray won silver in the 50m Breaststroke in a time of 40.32, he came 6th in the 200m Breaststroke and 8th in the 200m Individual Medley.

Scott competed in the 200m individual medley (10th), 100m breaststroke (10th), 200m breaststroke (11th), 200m backstroke (eighth) and 200m butterfly (seventh).

Rogana won bronze in the 50m butterfly, 37.67, came fifth in the 200m Butterfly and ninth in the 50m backstroke.

Ingham-Francis won silver in the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1.25.24 and Nicholls competed in the 50m Freestyle, finishing in 11th position.

Bolton and Manchester team finished in fifth place overall.
