Born 11 April 1968 in St Helens Professional boxer Gary was born in St Helens on 11 April 1968. During his career Gary won 23 of 25 professional bouts and racked up an impressive 14 KOs. And he was also named British Lightweight Champion.
But he stepped out of the ring for good after being defeated in a WBO middleweight championship match by Chris Eubank in 1991.
After his retirement Gary headed out to Los Angeles and attended acting school for eight years.
His hard work paid off and his latest role is in Oliver Stone's Hollywood blockbuster Alexander alongside big names like Angelina Jolie and Colin Farrell.
