A RAMSBOTTOM woman has been evicted from her home for failing to allow her landlord to carry out a compulsory annual gas checks.
Rebecca Lord, 22, of Salmesbury House, Ramsbottom, was evicted by social landlord Six Town Housing after the firm secured a possession order from Bury County Court.
Her eviction came after she failed to respond to letters, visits and a Notice of Intention to Seek Possession of the property, the council said.
A full gas service has now been carried out before the new tenants move in.
A Six Town Housing spokesman said: “We have a legal duty to undertake annual gas safety inspections.
“And we will not deviate from that duty. These inspections are necessary to ensure the safety of the tenant and their neighbours.
“In all cases where exhaustive attempts to gain access to carry out the inspection has failed we will seek possession of the property.”
