ULTIMATE fighter Michael Bisping has been denied his UFC 127 fight bonus because of his behaviour at the event.

But the Ultimate Fighting Championship has confirmed that the mixed martial artist will not be suspended.

The fighter, 32, sparked controversy at the event on February 26 at the Acer Arena, Sydney, Australia.

In his co-main event bout against Jorge Rivera, which Bisping won via TKO, the Brit used an illegal knee in the first round and appeared to spit at his opponent’s cornermen after the fight.

His actions followed months of taunting and mocking from the American in the build up to their fight including personal comments about Bisping’s heritage and his family.

After the fight, Bisping, who had earlier refused to touch gloves with Rivera, squared up to his defeated opponent demanding an apology for his earlier jibes.

But, in his post-fight interview, Bisping apologised to the fans and UFC president Dana White for his outburst.

He said: "I felt they were going below the belt and it upset me a little so I apologise."

The missed bonus has been reported to be anywhere between $15,000 and $250,000.

UFC president Dana White said: “Michael Bisping wasn’t bonused at all for that fight.

“He was a big part of that show and promoting it and he didn’t get rewarded for that because of his actions.”
