A 37-YEAR-OLD woman has been sexually assaulted in a Burnley alleyway.

She was pulled into a ginnel and pinned to the ground while the attack took place between Ada Street and Murray Street.

The victim was walking along Waterbarn Street when the incident took place.

DS Christopher Scott said: “This was a particularly nasty and terrifying incident for the victim who has been left incredibly shaken.

“I would appeal to anybody that may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously around the time of the incident to contact police.”

He has also warned people in the area to be on their guard and avoid isolated areas.

Police are hunting a tall, slim Asian man, aged 25 to 40, with dark, spiky hair. He wore dark clothes and a baseball cap.
