Kat Dibbits checks out the town's brightest musical talent - Ryan Abbey.

Name? Ryan Abbey.

Who are you? A 17-year-old From Morris Green.

How did you get started in music? Just started making songs as a hobby.

The story so far. . . I got a microphone connected to my PC just to chat to mates, but it was around the same time my cousin was making music, so he inspired me to give it a go and now my fanbase keeps growing and growing.

What do you sound like? A young English rapper.

What's on your record player? Everything from 50 Cent to Shakira, ha ha.

If you could play with one band, who would it be and why? The Mitchell Brothers because they are amazing live, they are a comedy duo and they are English.

What's been the highlight so far? The way people love what I do, and give me the confidence to go futher.

And the most embarrassing moment? Out of all the people that have heard my music, there are two people that said I should stop, and one of them was a mate I have known for years.

What's your definition of success? Completing something to satisfactory standards, and in my case letting people hear my music at the other end of the country.

What have you got lined up for the future? Nothing music wise really, I'll just see what comes.

How long before you can quit the day job? Think it will be a while yet, I'm still young and practising. But if I can get someone to guide me I think it will be much faster.

If I was your fairy godmother and could grant you one wish, what would it be? Just to be successful in the music business.
