CRAMMING 100 years of Disney magic into two hours on one ice rink seemed a tough call.

But with no less than 65 characters – plus multiple Genies - from 18 unforgettable stories, Disney on Ice somehow made it look easy.

Walt Disney's story began with Mickey Mouse and this captivating production starts with him and some other old favourites – Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck - too.

But there are also plenty of newer faces to enjoy with The Incredibles, Toy Story and Nemo. Even Stitch shows up to liven up Mickey's Band with his electric guitar.

Similarly the whole spectrum of Disney Princesses make an appearance, showing just how much times have changed from Snow White to Mulan!

Bubbles, lighting effects, fireworks and even a snow storm helped make the show visually stunning.

And the constant shrieks of delight from youngsters around the arena testified to their enjoyment.

For me, the highlight was the awesome Lion King routine, but the whole show is breathtaking.

How characters such as Buzz Lightyear, Genie and Pumbaa could even dance in those costumes – let alone perform such amazing routines on ice – is completely beyond me.

There was even a unicyclist on the ice at one point!

Parts of it really should have been impossible but I guess that's why they call it magic.

* Disney on Ice Celebrates 100 Years of Magic is at the Manchester Arena until Sunday, October 17.
