A FORMER radio producer who turned into a serial flasher and sex pest while out jogging is facing a jail term.

Andrew Brennand struck repeatedly in parks and on the streets of Burnley as well as in Rossendale over three months earlier this year.

The 26-year-old owned up to a string of offences that may lead to him being placed on the sex offenders' register as well as possibly serving a stretch behind bars..

The defendant, said to have worked for the BBC before his contract ended in January, admitted seven allegations of exposure and two charges of sexual assault, which took place between February and May, when he appeared at Burnley Crown Court.

He denied two further sex assault counts and they will be left to lie on the file when Brennand is sentenced on September 24.

The defendant, of Marton Drive, Burnley, has no previous convictions and his girlfriend and family were in the public gallery.

Brennand, who has spent almost three months on remand, was further remanded in custody for a pre-sentence report.

His barrister, Philip Holden, who did not apply for bail, told the hearing the defence was in the process of obtaining a psychiatric report for the sentence date.

Judge Beverley Lunt said it would depend on the sentence she passes whether or not the defendant was placed on the sex offenders' register.

She told Brennand: "All sentencing options, including obviously prison, will be considered by me ."

Police began their hunt for a "good looking" flasher after he exposed himself to several women, in front of a 15-year-old girl and grabbed two of the victims.

Officers believed him to be in a relationship and the man they were looking for was described as handsome, athletic-looking and well-spoken.

Brennand started his spree on February 3, when he flashed to a dog walker in Towneley Park, Burnley, around lunchtime.

He went on to strike in Crown Point Road, Scott Park Road, Montague Street, Manchester Road and Piccadilly Road area of Burnley as well as Loveclough.
