REPORTER Nafeesa Shan is spending a week in Afghanistan to see first-hand the work being done by troops from the North West as they battle the Taliban.
She is based at Camp Bastion in Helmand province alongside Duke of Lancaster soldiers.
The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment recruits its soldiers exclusively from Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and the Isle of Man.
