Burnley McDonald's drive-thru to open 24/7

Lancashire Telegraph: Burnley McDonald's drive-thru to open 24/7 Burnley McDonald's drive-thru to open 24/7

THE McDonald's drive-thru in Burnley will be able to open for 24 hours after councillors extended its licence.

Bosses at the fast food giant had wanted to open the Trafalgar Street restaurant as well.

Concerns had been raised by local councillors about the noise that would be caused by allowing the restaurant to open for 24 hours.

So councillors decided on Wednesday night to permit only the drive-thru to remain open past midnight.

Signs will be erected at the site forbidding customers to remain in the car park once they have used the drive-thru.

More councillors putting their mouths into gear, before engaging their brains?

Who will move the cars off the car park at 3.0am?

This will turn into another drug distribution centre for Burnley.

The orders will be 2 Big Mac's and some heroin please.

What you will also now see is every takeaway in Burnley and Nelson applying for the same opening hours, As we all know, there is no way that all the takeaways can be making a profit, most of them are just to lauder money, and sell drugs.

One minute councils are not only lecturing us about eating healthily, but they also pay people to spread the message. The next minute they are giving permission for yet another takeaway, or letting Mickey D's open 24/7.
One day they might, just might get their brains into gear!

I have yet to agree with you again Izanears, we must think alike. I shared your views on IB and now this. The Government have spent a fortune on healthy eating awareness through out schools, colleges, visiting specific areas etc. Yet they have granted yet another 24 hour fast food restaurant, as if we don't have enough already with takeaways. Saying that I could eat a Big Mac any time of day, this may have a major affect on the small takeaways.

Surely we're all big boys and girls now, if you don't want it simply don't have it.

The car park is open anyway for those paranoid about drugs and I'm pretty sure no employee would be stupid enough to risk their job like that.
It'll just provide a handy option for late night travellers and people out on the town.
