Officers have released CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to in connection with a suspected robbery at Chorley train station.

The incident took place at around 8.30pm Sunday, May 23 in the subway tunnel between platforms one and two.

The victim, a 19-year-old man from Chorley, was walking through the subway when two men approached him.

As he tried to pass, one man grabbed him and pushed him against the wall and demanded he hand over his phone and money.

When the victim protested that he did not have any money, the men demanded his bankcard and PIN number.

After taking his possessions, both men punched the victim’s head and face before running out of the station.

PC David Hewetson, the investigating officer, said: “The victim said the suspects turned left out of the station heading south towards Shepherds Way.

“This was a violent and unprovoked attack on a man who was simply trying to make his way home.

“Violence like this is unacceptable and I would urge anyone who recognises the men pictured, or may have seen anything, to get in touch.”
