PUPILS from King Edward VII School in Lytham are learning all about nature first hand after planting commemorative trees.
Each new class planted a hawthorn last autumn to mark their arrival and the school's 90th anniversary.
And the interest from the boys at watching their growth was more than anyone anticipated.
Head groundsman Paul Ovitts commented: "It's good to see the boys are keen to make improvements to our grounds and gardens."
Chris Whitmore, 12, of Lytham added: "It's an honour to have a tree planted for our class. We are all looking forward to seeing how much they grow before we leave King Edward's on 2006.
