WASP (Wildlife and Social Preservation - on the green) campaigners have delivered a further 440 letters of objection to WMBC Planning Department.

Over 300 have already been delivered since Hindley Green's three councillors informed us of their plan to force all heavy traffic to use Atherton Road, by putting restrictions on Swan Lane (info given at public meeting on July 14) to access the industrial estate via the new proposed housing estate.

People in a wider area of Hindley Green have become concerned regarding the impact on the district - hence the subsequent objections.

Hindley Green is being targeted for corporate vandalism in a ruthless drive to extract the maximum revenue via community charges by indiscriminating and ill-conceived development. Nothing is being put back in to the area.
