SAINTS' flying winger Anthony Sullivan has earned a late call-up to the Great Britain party for the Tri-Nations tournament in Australia and New Zealand.

Although omitted from coach Andy Goodway's initial train-on squad, the selection of the flying 'Sully' will come as no shock to all at Knowsley Road, where he once again leads the try-scoring charts with 27, despite missing nine games.

However, thirty-year-old Sullivan's inclusion means he has to forego the chance to captain the Welsh side in the forthcoming European championships.

Anthony, who holds six Test GB caps and 13 for Wales and toured Papua New Guinea, Fiji and New Zealand in 1996, follows in the footsteps of his famous father, the late Clive, who toured Australia with the British Lions in 1970 and captained the victorious Great Britain World Cup team of 1972.

He joins club colleagues Chris Joynt, Paul Sculthorpe, Keiron Cunningham and Sean Long in the party that jets out from Manchester on Sunday morning. Centre Paul Newlove though has withdrawn as he is awaiting surgery on a damaged thumb.
