The Reebok chief is sweating on midfield duo Robbie Elliott and Claus Jensen and defenders Gudni Bergsson and Paul Ritchie.

The foursome all experienced problems after Wanderers' FA Cup exit at the weekend and Allardyce will get the latest on them before finalising his starting line-up.

Jensen and Bergsson are tipped to shake off their cramp problems while Elliot's's groin complaint and Ritchie's stomach strain may be more serious. Midfielders Franck Passi, Gareth Farrelly, Paul Warhurst and full back John O'Kane are waiting in the wings to deputise.

Dean Holdsworth's place up front looks safe despite his extra time howler on Sunday and strong competition for places from Bo Hansen and on-loan Bradford frontman Gareth Grant. Three points tonight could boost Bolton to just four points adrift of sixth-placed Huddersfield.

Squad: Jaaskelainen, Bergsson, Ritchie, Fish, Whitlow, Johansen, Jensen, Elliott, Passi, Warhurst, Johnston, Gudjohnsen, Holdsworth, Hansen, Grant, Farrelly, O'Kane, Banks.
