FRENCH truckers aren't all bad.
I was riding my bike home when I saw a French articulated lorry at a junction. I indicated that I was turning left and nearly fell off with shock when I not only got a wave of acknowledgement, but also a shout of thanks (at least, I think it was).
Contrast this with the selfish and mediocre driving skills demonstrated by the the person at the wheel of a minibus who did his best to run both my wife and into a hedge on the outskirts of a Ribble Valley village on Tuesday .
He attempted to justify his actions by saying that as the driver of a Public Service Vehicle, with children on board, he had right of way.
The fact that wife and I would have to jump our bikes over an 8ft-high hedge to let him pass on the single-track road didn't seem to bother him. We were then told we had no right being on the road.
If I was the parent of one of the youngsters who use this bus, I would be very concerned about who was transporting my child.
