COURAGEOUS Gwen Mayor, the former Great Harwood woman who died protecting her class of Dunblane youngsters from a crazed gunman, was named Scotswoman of the Year.
Mrs Mayor was announced joint winner of the award, organised by a Scottish newspaper group.
